Strategery
This image is an example of satire because it is making fun of president Bush. The image says "strategery" which is a word that was used by Will Ferrell used in a Saturday Night Live skit, mocking president Bush for his many embarrassing speeches. Over the eight years of Bush's presidency, he has always been humiliated by citizens because of his struggle to pronounce words and give speeches. There have been multiple incidents like this one, where he has failed to pronounce a word correctly. He is now famous for his mispronunciation of the word "nuclear" and butchering several different common phrases. This is one of the many things that have led to many Americans thinking that President Bush is a dumb ass.

This photo of Stephen Colbert's book titled "I am America (And So can You!)" captures the satire of his entire comedic personality.  Colbert uses satire in his act by acting like the people he is making fun of;  Republicans.  He first became famous with his TV show "The Colbert Report" in which he plays the role of a hard hitting, truth telling news anchor with strict Republican and Christian beliefs.  Colbert exaggerates these republican characteristics to express his opinion on the party. He believes that the republican party is unintelligent, irresponsible, and ignorant. He, in his view, exploits the idea that these Christian and Republican people believe they are superior to other cultures. Colbert's humor towards republicans often persuades people to favor democratic views.

Eric Cartman of the comedy t.v. show "South Park" uses the phrase, "respect my authority!" when acting as a police officer. This image displays satire towards police officers who abuse their power. Many cops are known to act as if they are superior to the average citizen. The creators of South Park are expressing their discontent with the attitudes of such police officers. The character, Eric Cartman, is known to have a big ego. In many episodes he attempts to gain power over his fellow students. This resembles the attitude of many police officers in our society today.

This South Park clip on the global warming issue is satirical because it exaggerates society's fear of global warming. Global warming has been an extreme issue for the past decade. People have even estimated that the world would come to an end when global warming melts the polar ice caps. Some people even think that this will take place by the end of this year 2012. In the video, people are seen in a panic to avoid the global warming. This sat arises society's reaction to the issue.

This clip expresses satire by making fun of the way the BP was handled. All of the actors in the video used strong sarcasm to show the humor in the BP's panicked reaction. BP had many awful attempts at containing the spill, but continued to worsen the situation. As seen in the video, the coffee spill was taken care of in the same manner. The people freaked out and did not think of the obvious conclusion to wipe up the spill with the paper towels they had. The video also satirized the way BP blamed Halliburton for the spills and not solving the issue.
